Every day on the Nigerian internet, there are people who keep our eyes glued to our phone screens as we read their rants, opinions, perspectives on political and social matters, etc. Sometimes, they are just downright ridiculous. We make it our job to take down the names of these noisemakers.
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has asked Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana to withdraw his ‘This is Nigeria’ video and apologise to Nigerians, or face legal action.
In a statement, MURIC director, Ishaq Akintola said the girls dressed in hijab seen dancing the “shaku shaku” dance in the video, in no way depicts the situation of the girls.
Describing the video as “thoughtless, insensitive and highly provocative,” MURIC said it could brew religious and ethnic crisis. It also said the video is spiteful and intended to denigrate Islam and Muslims.
Here’s our list from today:
1. Feyi Fawehinmi
Funniest part is threatening Falz with a lawsuit. Someone that does not need to pay for a lawyer
— tyro (@DoubleEph) June 5, 2018
He might still need to pay for a lawyer(s) though.
You know… going with a whole community of SANs to court, just to show MURIC that the law (as a human being) lives in their family.
2. Didi
Falz' THIS IS NIGERIA Video has definitely hit the right spot and gained nation/worldwide recognition and they're all fighting themselves ?
MURIC is now asking him to take it down or face the Law ?.
Law kor.
When falz and his whole family eat and bathe the LAW ?
JOKERS.— + DIDI the BOLDEST? (@Blessed_didi) June 5, 2018
You can’t say they are jokers na. They have concerns.
Let’s listen to the … they have to say.
3. Ogechi
I said Falz will get into trouble and you people laughed. What he did was the most outspoken activism in modern day Nigerian music
— Mkpulu mma 1 of Imo State ?? (@NwaanyiOwerre) June 5, 2018
But he is not yet in trouble na.
4. Henry Okelue
It would be nice to see MURIC take Falz to court. It should be interesting.
— HENRY Okelue (@4eyedmonk) June 5, 2018
It should be televised live. This is a very ‘serious’ issue.
5. Iya Laje
The girls wearing Hijab symbolize the kidnapped school girls & how entertainment continuously distracts us from everything that is happening.
Falz didn't insult Muslims. Get the message don't kill the messenger.
Well #ThisIsNigeria where religion is the basis of everything. Smh https://t.co/ME8J47c8jy

As we know, religion (practised rather retrogressively) is a serious problem in Nigeria.
A politician steals money and says when he is about to be lynched: “Please Nigerians, remember that God says we should forgive“. (Just an aside though).
6. Wale Adetona
Of all things to even threaten Falz with, it's lawsuit they chose.
It's like threatening a fish with water.
Una go dey alright.— Wale Adetona (@iSlimfit) June 5, 2018
Lol!
7. Odudu Johnson
If #Falz was a Muslim, I believe wahala no for dey with regards to that hijab stuff ……
Like y'all just become slaves to Religious belief's and that's why we can't stay together in this country ….
Wtf is wrong with that video now ???— Odudu Johnson ?? (@Ody_johnson) June 5, 2018
DO NOT be angry now. Let us see how this plays out first.
8. Mcberth
MURIC gave Falz 7 days ultimatum to withdraw #ThisisNigeria Video.
Wait, is it that he would remove it from YouTube or he would do Abracadabra to make all of us that has seen the video to unsee it..
Because me don't understand..
— E B U K A ? (@Mcberth_Playkul) June 5, 2018
Hmmm…
9. Bhadmus Hakeem
MURIC took it too far with their threat against Falz. Another case of "Ignore the Message, attack the messenger". #ThisIsNigeria where we all enjoy attaching religious sentiment to every issue.
— #PrayForNigeria ??? (@Bhadoosky) June 5, 2018
Religious sentiments indeed!
10. Ayo Sogunro
So, today alone:
