@Toperants: How to increase my influence as a blogger (Y! Superblogger)

by Tope Olofin

So as a blogger, what you basically want to do is influence people to visit your blog, you want to influence them to read, watch or listen to you and finally you want them to take action and action can mean anything from writing a comment, to clicking on an ad, to getting a call for an endorsement (don’t worry, I’ve got you all covered)

Let me make a promise upfront. There is no way this post is going to have typos because I said so. Who wants to take me up on that?

Alright, how about this, for every typo you can point out, I will be willing to pay N200. I give my word that this is not going to pass through my editor, so you might actually make some cash off me…if I hear.

Ahhhh, see as all of them are now reading with vengeance. You will not catch me…lai lai…just so you know, Nigerian English (and that includes pidgin) is allowed o. I am just saying.

So I concluded Monday’s post literally begging you to blog with some intention and make use of mental triggers.

I want to say a big thank you to the folks that left me comments. It simply means the rest of you are just taking up space on this blog…mind yourself o.

And that’s the job of mental triggers…they influence how people act and make decisions. That one was lifted…verbatim. If you like, go and report me to Google.

Wait o, let them not spank me like they did you know who.

Still on the mata, there are different types of mental triggers but I will only focus on one because my paper, abi is it sheet, will soon finish, besides, I can’t give you all in one day, if I do toperants.com will become a ghost town.

My all-time favorite mental trigger is authority. People tend to follow others in positions of authority or people who are perceived to be in positions of authority. (Plenty grammar, it’s messing up my crude packaging o).

Some of you have friends, colleagues or siblings, who at one time or the other, stepped out to control road traffic. Has it ever crossed your mind that people actually obeyed even though a great number of the volunteers didn’t officially have the authority?

The koko of my story is it really doesn’t take much to create authority and when it comes to blogging the same principle should apply.

For the first time, I’ll admit that I don’t have a text book answer to this, so I am open to some brainstorming. How can a blogger increase their level authority and evidently increase their influence?

Let’s help each other get our desired results.

Don’t tell me you are still looking for them typos. Wicked somebody.

See ya!

P.S: I need you to be really creative on this one. Think really hard, then hit the reply button and tell me one way you feel you can increase your authority as a blogger, so you can influence people to take the action you want them to take.
