The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a bid on Wednesday by President Donald Trump to block a judge’s ruling that prevented the travel ban on people from six Muslim-majority countries from being applied to grandparents of U.S citizens.

According to Reuters, the Supreme Court in a partial win for Trump, placed on hold the part of the judge’s ruling that would allow more people to enter the United States under a separate ban on refugees if it went into effect. Hawaii Judge Derrick Watson issued a ruling late on Thursday limiting the scope of the administration’s temporary ban on refugees and travelers from the six countries.

The Trump administration initially posed grandparents and cousins did not qualify as “bonafide relationship” which was an exemption to the travel ban, which was required by the high court for foreign citizens with close ties to U.S. people or institutions.
