US will help Nigeria recover and repatriate stolen funds – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that the United States and other countries, have agreed to support and assist his administration in the recovery and repatriation of stolen funds from Nigeria.

A statement put out by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, quoted the President as saying this while granting audience to members of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday, June 23.

Buhari said that the onus is now on Nigeria to provide the international community with the facts and figures needed to drive the recovery effort.

Consequently, the President said he would be busy, in the next three months, getting the facts that would help in recovering the stolen funds.

Adesina quoted the President as saying that: “In the next three months, our administration will be busy getting those facts and the figures to help us recover our stolen funds in foreign countries.”
