If you know anything about the Nigerian music industry, you will almost be certain that two Nigerians singers winning an international music award on the same day, especially one that is highly coveted, is sure to spark some interesting conversations. While majority of persons would opt to simply congratulate the artistes and move on, there are those who would do a complete 360 on the subject, and in no time, have everyone talking about something else.

Earlier today, Wizkid, one of Nigeria’s most decorated singers, bagged another BET Award.

Words on the street quickly navigated towards Wizkid holding the most BET Awards in Africa, following this win.

Not long after that, music producer and former associate of Wizkid; Samklef, took to Twitter to drop a few thoughts, and fans who were celebrating a moment ago, quickly switched to attack mode.

To be fair, all Samklef did was to congratulate Burna Boy on his win.

A number of people have come to the producer’s defence, understanding his right to have an opinion, and choosing to call out people who breed so much negativity over an individual they claim to stan. Some also recognized that some of Wizkid’s success was as a result of his collaboration with Samklef, earlier in his career.
