Gambia President-elect, Adama Barrow has reassured citizens of the country that he would assume office in January 2017 after the term of incumbent President, Yahya Jammeh elapses.
Barrow said this in a press conference after Jammeh rejected results of the just concluded Presidential election.
Jammeh who has ruled the west African country for 22 years had rejected the results on State TV, a week after conceding defeat to Adama Barrow.
Barrow while speaking urged Jammeh relinquish power in the interest of Gambians who have continuous cried for freedom.
