Director of the Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI), James Comey says the agency is investigating any links between the campaign organisation of US president, Donald Trump and the Russian government.

There have been allegations that Kremlin interfered with the November presidential election.

Comey, said this on Monday at the Capitol Hill during the Russia Intel hearing by Congress.

He said the investigation was ongoing and classified, and details could not be made available to the public yet.

However, Comey said, “I have been authorised by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI is investigating the Russian government effort to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. And that includes individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s effort.”
