A deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Alkali Mohammed has been killed by suspected hoodlums in the Omoku area of Rivers state, on Saturday.
Mohammed’s orderly was also killed.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by Kasimu Abdulkarim, commander of 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt.
He said the police personnel were on duty during the Rivers legislative rerun.
Abdulkarim said the hoodlums laid an ambush which led to disappearance of 5 officers.
He revealed that three policemen escaped the ambush.
