On Sunday, July 31 2016, thousands tuned in to watch the grand finale of the debut season of the singing competition – The Voice Nigeria.
Hosted by Ik Osakioduwa and Stephanie Coker, the final saw mind-blowing performances from each teams headed by the 4 celebrity judges – 2Baba, Waje, Timi Dakolo and Patoranking.
The night then gave birth to a superstar in the making – Agharese Emokpae popularly known as A’rese, a 28 year old singer and Graduate of Washington and Lee University – who was crowned as the winner.
Mentored by Waje, A’rese walked home with a Universal Studio recording contract, an SUV worth N7million and a 4 night getaway to Dubai.
It was a golden television moment for audiences across Nigeria.
