Governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola, says President Goodluck Jonathan and the ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party, cannot be trusted, owing to their dissemination of half-truths and false claims
Fashola says Jonathan has failed Nigerians, and as such, does not deserve a second term in office as president of Nigeria.
He made the comments on Tuesday, February 10, during the All Progressives Congress campaign rally in the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area.
According to the governor, the President was making things worse, by claiming to have constructed 25,000km roads within Nigeria, when “the distance from Lagos to London is just over 5,000km”.
He said, “President Goodluck Jonathan said he constructed 25,000 kilometres roads in the country. Now, the distance from Lagos to London is just over 5,000km. What the claim by the President means is that they have constructed a road from Lagos to London five times. But the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that is 404km and has not been done. So where did they see the 25,000km roads?
“On electricity, we pay 75 per cent more than we should pay for power through self generation of electricity. Contrary to their claim, the President and the PDP can’t give electricity.”
