It was the year’s first A-list red carpet event on this side of the Atlantic, and as if to set the tone for the style year ahead, the majority of guests arrived looking marvellous. The green carpet was spilling over with fabulous fashionistas and fashionistos, who displayed the works of the sartorial geniuses of the Nigerian fashion industry . The range of stylish, edgy and vintage designs from Bridget Awosika, Sally Bawa, Vonne, Souza, Cuco by Motara Thomas, Mutayz de la Tushe, MD Clothing, Uyai, Meena, Ituen Bassey and more, kept our toes tingling with delight.
We can’t wait for the rest of 2011!
Floor length gorgeous
These beauties look trés hot in different modern silhouetted dresses with dashes of colour, lacy sleeves, prints and sequins added to their well fitted floor-length creations.

Let there be white…
And there was white – the classic wardrobe staple that in one breath looks both tasteful and distinctive.

Dapper dudes
The boys are now smiling. These guys literally shut the green carpet down in their well executed looks. We love the chic appliqués which were added to their jackets, stamping the brooch as a red carpet trend for men.

Short, sexy frockstars
There was a feast of short sexy dresses on The Future Awards green carpet – from knee length to a few inches below the knee – classic LBDs with modern twists. These ladies look totally adorable.

The jump season
Jumpsuits can look playful or classy depending on which look you’re actually gaming for. These ladies rocked theirs beautifully.

The perfect pair
These people are not necessarily spouses, but they came as each other’s plus one. Couldn’t help but notice the trend, even the married couples rocked it to the Tee. Our favourite is comedian AY and his wife.

Presentation definitely on point.
