The world was shocked on late Friday night when the death of Cameroonian footballer, Patrick Ekeng was announced after collapsing during a match for his club, Dinamo Bucharest.
The 26-year-old who collapsed seven minutes into the game after he was came on as a 63rd minute substitute was confirmed dead at Floreasca emergency hospital less than two hours after he was rushed there.

Although there were reports that he suffered a fatal heart attack, there has not been ana offcial confirmation yet.

In faraway Brazil, Friburguense player, Bernardo Ribeiro died on Sunday after he took ill during a match in Brazil on Saturday.
Also aged 26, the player was taken to hospital but later suffered a suspected fatal heart attack, according to reports. There has however been no official confirmation of his cause of death.

Another 26-year-old Cameroonian player reportedly passed away in similar circumstances early Monday morning.
Female goalkeeper Jeanine Christelle Djomnang, passed away at a hospital in southern Cameroon after collapsing during her warm-up before her club – Femina Stars Ebolowa’s encounter against MINPROFF Yaounde on Sunday.
According to Dailymail, the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) said that she might have suffered a fatal heart attack as she reportedly complained of chest pains prior to the match but she died on her way to hospital.
