The governorship election in Itaja Ward in Ayingba in Dekina LGA of Kogi, has been cancelled by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Kogi.
The election was cancelled as a result of the ballot-snatching incident in the ward.
According to Premium Times, accreditation was ongoing when miscreant thugs attacked voters in the unit, and made away with sensitive materials.
Halilu Piu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, confirmed the development, but added that the situation was already under control.
The REC said the vote-count in the unit will be disregarded when the total results are being collated.
