Accounts of Fani-Kayode’s ‘Jonathan campaign colleagues’, frozen by EFCC

As part of an investigation into the Goodluck Jonathan 2015 presidential campaign funds, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen two bank accounts co-owned by former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, and former Imo State Governor, Achike Undenwa

According to the Punch, who spoke to a source privy to the situation, the money was allegedly paid into the accounts by the Director of Finance of the campaign organisation, Senator Nenadi Usman.

Prominent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari and a one-time Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, was said to have received N840 million from the campaign organization.

Fani-Kayode is currently in the custody of the anti-graft agency.

The source further disclosed that, “Udenwa and Onwuliri got N350m in two tranches. The first tranche of N150m was paid into their joint account with Zenith Bank on January 13, 2015.”

“The second tranche of N200m was credited into their account with Diamond Bank.”
