The Senate on Tuesday mandated the Comptroller-general of the Nigerian Customs Service Hameed Ali to appear before it unfailingly on Wednesday by 10:30am.

The decision of the Senate followed a letter sent by Ali saying he would not be able to honour the invitation because of a prior meeting he had.

But the senate said Ali’s excuse was unacceptable accusing him of testing the integrity of the upper legislative chamber.

On his part, Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan said the Customs CG’s excuses are not acceptable and urged him to appear on Thursday.

Senate President Bukola Saraki put the question before the floor of the red chamber and mandated the Customs CG has been to appear in Uniform on Wednesday by 10:30am.
