Make noise and get punished by Ambode

Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has promised to fully enforce regulations governing noise pollution in the state.

The governor made this promise on Monday during the distribution of 250 hearing aid devices to some beneficiaries, including babies, in the state by MTN Foundation.

Ambode, who was represented by the Special Adviser on Primary Health, Dr. Femi Onanuga, promised that no individual or corporate organisation would be spared in government’s renewed efforts against defaulters.

He said, “I also urge the 250 beneficiaries of the MTN Foundation Hearing Aid Support Project in Lagos State to join the campaign against noise pollution in the society.”

The wife of the governor, Bolanle Ambode, who handed over some of the devices to beneficiaries, applauded the company’s “high sense of commitment to the execution of corporate social responsibilities”.

She said, “The company has continued to maintain a clear lead in diligent fulfillment of its social covenant with the people and society. Its outreaches have touched a large percentage of the population across all age categories”.

She promised that the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, which she currently heads, would embark on a similar programme later in the year.

The event was the first phase of the MTN Hearing Aid Support Project, during which 1,500 devices are expected to be distributed to persons with hearing defects in six states of the country.
