Anambra State University renamed after late Ojukwu

Anambra State University, Uli has been renamed by the governor of the state, Peter Obi after Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu the late Biafran warlord.

The new development was announced by the governor via a live broadcast on Anambra broadcasting service television station in celebration of the 80th posthumous birthday of late Ojukwu.

In his broadcast, governor Obi called on the people of Anambra to support his administration in recognition of their roles as critical stakeholders in the development of the state.

Late Ojukwu, who died on November 26, 2011, led a 1966 revolt against the then federal government in an unsuccessful attempt to form the Republic of Biafra.
