There must be something in the air! The buzz of American rapper Kanye West’s signing D’Banj & Don Jazzy of the Mo’Hits crew has hardly died down, and already there’s news of another mega-collaboration! About six hours ago, Senegalese born superstar Akon tweeted, revealing a ‘master plan’ in the works between Tuface Idibia and himself. See the tweet, and it’s accompanying twit pic below.
This is great news, as it is heart warming to see such a talented Nigerian artiste being given a wider platform. However, maybe it was only a matter of time? It’s no news that Akon has collaborated with so many artistes that we now struggle to keep count! In fact, just a while ago, we heard of similar talks between Akon and Tuface’s former band mate, Faze.
Any which way, we await the results of this ‘African Connection’!
I heard Akon is doing this because he wants to settle down in Nigeria. Someone tells me he bought half a plot in Ikorodu to build his house when he came to perform at a creche's prom few months ago.
Thats probably why Nigerians are not too excited about this news.
