The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun says the ruling party is cash-strapped.
Odigie-Oyegun said on Monday that the APC is suffering from the strains of funding, while adding that the party won’t disturb President Muhammadu Buhari to help raise funds.
The APC Chairman revealed this during an interactive session with journalists at the APC headquarters in Abuja.
“The party is suffering the strains of funding. We are working to raise resources within the membership. We have not asked for rescue from the president because it is not part of his national assignment.”
Speaking on the state of the nation and the economy, he said: “Buhari inherited a collapsed economy. What we are doing is to clear the debris. There will be plenty of good news in the next few months. We have to put up with the present deprivation. But we will smile tomorrow.”
Odigie-Oyegun also weighed-in on the anti-corruption campaign of the federal government administration, which he said was not selective.
He urged the next government to also probe the present administration just as it investigates theatrocities of the past. “We are investigating yesterday. Let tomorrow investigate us,” he added.
