‘Army to withdraw troops from Abia’

The Nigerian army has agreed to withdraw its soldiers from Aba and Umuahia in Abia.

The governor of Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu, made the announcement of the withdrawal of troops during a press conference on Thursday.

Troops had been deployed to the state for a military exercise tagged Operation Python Dance II, but have only met resistance.

  1. ,Give them some time. You say they aren’t working. The main reason they were activated was to restore peace in our community and in the country at large. Most of you are being too fast in passing your verdict as to this “Operation Egwu Eke II”. Remember that the operation was activated to check communal vices,and any viable threat to the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
