A 15-year-old boy was allegedly struck and killed by lightning during a  downpour in Kogi state.

The incident occurred at Otokiti Housing Estate, on Lokoja-Okene-Kabba road, adjacent the Army Barracks in the state capital on Tuesday evening.

The victim’s is sun of a director in the state Ministry of Information,Kashim  Imam

According to reports, a source told newsmen that while it was raining there was thunder followed by lightning which struck and killed the boy.

The mother of the deceased said she was in the room when the rain started and suddenly there was a lightning flash and the boy, who was outside playing in the open field of the estate with some of his friends, was struck dead.
