According to the Presidency, the discordant tunes of the Peoples Democratic Party signifies that the opposition party is in dire need of help.
On Sunday, the PDP criticised the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari, over the arrest of Senator Godswill Akpabio, former Governor of Akwa Ibom.
Akpabio was interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Friday and Saturday, over alleged financial impropriety.
The PDP views Akpabio’s arrest as a scheme to weaken the party structure ahead of the 2019 general elections, while also labeling the President as a dictator, among other crimes.
Reacting on behalf of the Presidency, was the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
He said: “The opposition seems to have run out of ideas so soon. Daily, we hear the same jaded, hackneyed allegations from them. I think they really are to be pitied. They need help.
“A broken record that repeats itself ceaselessly is of no use than to be thrown away.”
