Copyright battle: Queen Ure says it’s nothing personal, but Cynthia Morgan is clearly unimpressed

by Chinwe Okafor

It seems like everyone is out to get the Queen.

Just a few days back Queen Ure claimed that yet another music act Cynthia Morgan had stolen the concept of her ‘Porpori’ song and reworked it into her current, ‘Popori’ track.

The music act and ex-wife of singer-turned-prophet Soul E, took her grudge a step further by getting a court injunction against the reggae singer in order to stop her from using the song title, “Popori”.

Apparently, Ure’s Porpori, a word she made up herself, was released in 2012 as a 15-track album and a video in March 2014.

She stated in the court order that she doesn’t want Cynthia to make use of the word ‘Popori’ whether as a song title or any other place, also adding that the suit was nothing personal.

However, Cynthia Morgan didn’t finding the matter funny, as she took to Instagram to express her disgust at the turn of events.

She took it personal, and had nothing but scathing words for Queen Ure.
