Melania Trump, wife of presumptive candidate of the party, Donald Trump literally stole the show during the Republican National Congress in Cleveland, Ohio, but as it turned out, the beautiful wife of the Republican candidate was found to have stolen far more than that – she also took about a whole paragraph off Michelle Obama‘s 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado.
It took Jarrett Hill, a journalist and interior designer from Los Angeles to call her out on this and alert the world of the apparent plagiarism.
It didn’t, however, take long before Trump’s campaign organization, represented by Jason Miller, its Senior Communications Advisor, released a press statement ‘explaining’ the faux pas. We’re really not sure if this cuts it but see the 44-worded response below:
“In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success.”
The Campaign’s response draws even more questions than answers; what part of the plagiarized content represents ‘her life’s inspirations‘ and ‘fragments that reflected her own thinking‘? I guess we’ll never know.
Trump’s Campaign needs to do better than this statement; it’s not even close to being enough.
She stole the show! Hahaha you just killed me.
