Mrs Osiya Agama, the sister of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has been rescued by operatives of the Nigerian Police.

On Wednesday, 29 October, Rivers Police Command confirmed the rescue of Agama, who was abducted by gunmen in Port Harcourt, two weeks ago.

Confirming the rescue was spokespoerson of Rivers Police, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, who revealed that Agama was rescued by security operatives on Wednesday.

Muhammed stated that she was freed during a joint operation by the police, the military and operatives of the State Security Service.

He also disclosed that two suspects were arrested in the operation.
