Wizkid’s former manager gets married
Wizkid’s one-time manager Osagie Osarenkhoe fondly known as ‘This Metal Chic’, on Saturday, got married to her graffiti artist beau, Osa ‘Osa Seven’ Okunkpolor.

The wedding was attended by celebrities – largely from the music industry – including Tunde Demuren, Sound Sultan, Banky W and Skales; whom is managed by the bride.

Tiwa Savage and pure water bags? Two phrases you would hardly have thought existed together. However, it did happen according to the singer.

According to Kemi Filani’s blog, the Mavin singer made this known during a recent speaking engagement at the Youth Enterprise Conference 2016 where she talked about how she was embarrassed on stage at her first major performance upon her return to the country as an aspiring R&B artiste.

“My first performance at Kennis Easter Fiesta was a disaster! I was stoned with pure water bags because I was singing English songs and blowing too much phonetics.” Tiwa was quoted as saying.

The singer then added that this experience inspired her breakthrough single – Kele Kele Love.

She said: “I ran back to my husband who was my boyfriend at that time and cried ‘my people are not accepting me, I don’t know what to do.’ He told me to start singing songs that they could relate with. And that was how I came up with Kele Kele Love.”

Movie inspired by Wole Soyinka’s book set to premiere at Cannes film festival

The film adaptation of Ake, one of the brilliant books by Nigeria’s famous literary writer, Wole Soyinka, is set to premiere at the Cannes film festival in France.

Dapo Adeniyi who is the Executive Producer of the film recently disclosed this.

“This film festival holding in the city of Cannes focuses on African works. Since the film is an adaptation of the world famous book ‘Ake’, one of the books that earned Soyinka the Nobel Prize in 1986, we decided to showcase it at the world stage.”

He also disclosed that for better appreciation by audiences at the festival, the movie would be translated to French.

“To make sure that people understand and appreciate the story in France, we have to do the French translation.”

The Cannes festival which is one of the biggest film festivals in the world is scheduled to hold between April 16 to April 20.
