Former Chelsea head coach, Jose Mourinho through his agent Jorge Mendes has denied The Independent‘s report of a six page ‘love’ letter to the board of Manchester United.

Following Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to Southampton at Old Trafford on Saturday, the British newspaper released a report claiming that the former Chelsea manager had sent a six-page letter to United’s board detailing his plans for the side.

In the purported letter was said to contain his key decisions as well as his desire to adhere to the club’s principles.

However, Mendes released a statement via his sport management agency Gestifute, slamming the report as “totally absurd”.

He was quoted as saying: “It does not occur to anyone that a coach like Jose Mourinho can write letters to clubs offering their services,” he said.

“It is absolutely ridiculous and totally absurd.”
