The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate Abubakar Sani Bello has been declared the winner of the 2015 governorship election in Niger State.
Declaring Abubakar Bello as the winner in the results announced about 3:40 am on Monday, the Chief Returning Officer, Abdulganiyu Ambali, said Bello scored 593, 702 votes to defeat his closest opponent and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Umar Mohammed Nasko who scored 239, 772 votes.
Ambali said having met all the constitutional requirements by scoring 25 per cent in all the local government areas and scored the highest votes cast, Abubakar Sani Bello was so declared as governor-elect for Niger State in the contest that had 10 candidates.
