A Muslim cleric, who had allegedly been locked up by the Department of State Security Services (DSSS) for the past 2 years, has been freed.
Isa Mohammed Awwal was released by security operatives at the weekend after being incarcerated since 2012.
Mallam Awwal was locked up by the SSS on allegations of terrorism after he was accused of being a member of Boko Haram.

The Islamic scholar was released to his home in Bida , Niger state over the weekend alongside his brother, Zuberu Ahmadu who was arrested too for the same allegation.
Mallam as he popularly called who was arrested by the department on July 25 2012 without trial, has attracted human rights lawyers and civil society organisations.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the Islamic scholar was released last week Thursday but arrived Bida over the weekend to his 82yrs old Mother Aishatu Abdullahi received him with other members of the family.
His aged mother had always insisted that her son was not a member of Boko Haram and had cried to various human rights lawyers to save her son.
Speaking after his release at his Esso home in Bida, Mallam Isa Mohammed Awwal, said what befell him was the act of God and that he had forgiven who wrongly accused him.
He said his prayer was for divine guidance to make those involved in his arrest to realize their mistakes and said prayers for all that stood by him.
