Rochas Okorocha, the governor of Imo state has pledged to provide free education to all Nigerians, provided he is elected as president in 2015.

While addressing Sokoto state delegates that will represent the All Progressives Congress at the December 10 national convention, the presidential aspirant said: “I have done it in my schools spread across Nigeria and I will do it again if elected as the President.”

“Currently, there are over 12,000 indigent children in my schools with scores of them from the North,” he added.

Okorocha, who made the statement on Saturday, December 6, said his objective to become Nigeria’s president was not born out of a desire to amass wealth, power or get fame, but to bring desired change to the country.

He expressed an urgent need for social justice, equity and fairness in the affairs of Nigeria, while adding that he would work hard to end two major problems in Nigeria; poverty and unemployment.

Speaking further, Okorocha urged Nigerians to trust him based to his antecedents and the love for sustainable peace and unity of the nation. He added that he would reduce insecurity, illiteracy, poverty, militancy and kidnapping, among other social ills.
