Half of Republicans to support the postponement of the 2020 elections

Despite critics of President Trump repeatedly stressing their sentiments of the fear of a potential to undermine American democracy over the President’s dubbed boastful assertions that he would have won the popular vote had 3 to 5 million “illegals” not voted in the 2016 election, claiming echoes of large-scale voter fraud are not true – many Republicans have not given listening ears to this claims.

A recent survey however exposed the length the said Republicans are willing to go to support the president in his views, according to Washington Post.

The survey disclosed that, about half of Republicans say they would support postponing of the 2020 presidential election until the country can fix the problem of illegal voters.

The survey which interviewed a sample of 1,325 Americans from June 5 through 20 recruited respondents from the Qualtrics online panel who had previously reported identifying with one of the two major parties.

The survey focused on the 650 respondents who identify with the Republican Party – sample of which was weighted to match the population in terms of sex, age, race and education.

The survey was bridled along questions: “whether Trump won the popular vote”, “whether millions of illegal immigrants voted”, and “how often voter fraud occurs”. These were the offshoots of Trump’s and other observers argument of the integrity of the election.

Then extensive survey questions about the 2020 elections asked were, “If Donald Trump were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote, would you support or oppose postponing the election?

And also, “What if both Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote? Would you support or oppose postponing the election?”

Responses to these questions however birthed the conclusion of the survey which indicated that, more than half of the republicans nodded a yes to the questions.
