Eyitayo Jegede has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Makarfi-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state.
The immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo state, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN was declared winner of the primary after polling 760 votes to defeat the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the PDP in the 2012 governorship election, Hon. Saka Lawal.
The result of the primary which held at the International Cultural and Event Centre (The Dome), Akure, on Monday was announced by the Chairman of the PDP Primary Election Committee for Ondo State and the Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson.
Jegede was appointed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice under the administration of the present governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko. He resigned his appointment on July 22, 2016 in order to pursue his governorship ambition.
