The Senate on Tuesday lent its voice on the issue relating to the sale of the country’s national assets.
In a voice vote, the senators voted against the action.
The motion for the rejection of the sale was moved by senate leader, Ali Nudme.
He said, “I move that the senate oppose the sale of national assets to shore up our reserves.”
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki put the motion to a voice vote, and the “ayes” had it.
Last week, at the resumption of the red chamber from its annual recess, Saraki had called on the federal government to consider selling some of the nation’s assets.
