Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Lawal Momoh, has been impeached.

Momoh was impeached by 5 out of the 25 members of the state assembly on Tuesday.

The Deputy Speaker, Kolawole Matthew and majority leader, Alih Ajuh, were also impeached by the House.

Umar Imam was announced as the new speaker of the Kogi state assembly while Friday Sani, the new majority leader, addressed journalists regarding the changes.

The former Speaker, Momoh Lawal was accused of not carrying his colleagues along in the affairs of the assembly
