In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has warned the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) against further attacks on Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.
Reacting to claims that Oshiomole used the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, EDSIEC, to rig the recently conducted local government council elections in the state in favour of his party, ACN described PDP’s claims as illogical, reminding it that it failed to win an election in any council during the last governorship poll in the state.
“PDP is behaving like the Roman emperor, Nero, who fiddled while Rome burned. A ruling party bogged down by a monumental internal crisis that has now torn its tattered umbrella to shreds.
“There is failure of governance at the centre, killing of innocent Nigerians in Baga and widespread insecurity in the land and the PDP is wasting the time it doesn’t have to peddle lies against an acknowledged state builder like Oshiomhole” the statement reads.
The party therefore advised the PDP to desist from further attacks on the office and person of the Governor of Edo State.
