A Nigerian man was left to die at Madrid’s international airport over fears that he had the Ebola virus disease.

The incident occured at about 5 pm on Saturday, 18 October at Madrid-Barajas airport, in Spain.

Airport staff refused to touch the unidentified man, who was left trembling and shaking, as he laid on the floor for over an hour.

The airport’s medical team decided to call the Health Ministry’s specialist Ebola service, which arrived 50 minutes later.

The medical team discovered that he did not have Ebola, but he subsequently lost consciousness, after which he was transported to hospital where he later died.

A post mortem revealed that the man was suffering the effects of a cocaine overdose after several bags of the drug had burst in his stomach.
