Omran Daqneesh, whose pictures went viral on the internet, covered with gray of dusts and smears of blood after he was rescued from a building collapsed by airstrikes has lost his brother, Ali Daqneesh.

According to Yousef Saddiq, the director at Aleppo Media Center, Ali Daqneesh, 10, died today from injuries sustained from the airstrikes.

Omran’s mother is still hospitalized and in critical condition.

Photos and video of Omran Daqneesh had gone viral after he sat in an ambulance looking shocked.

Many have regarded him as the true symbol of the Syrian war.
