Plagiarism: Presidency redeploys deputy director

The deputy director involved in the plagiarism scandal that rocked the presidency weeks ago has been redeployed from the State House, Daily Trust reports.

The director was said to have copied portions of US President’s Barack Obama 2008 acceptance speech and inserted it into President Buhari’s speech at the launch of the “Change begins with me” campaign.

“At 8 o’clock on the Monday morning following the allegations, he reported at the office of the Head of Service, and he was immediately asked to vacate his position and office at the State House pending further measures which will be guided by civil service rules and regulations,” a source said.

On September 16th the presidency sanctioned the deputy director for plagiarising the speech.
