The Police Command in Abia says it has arrested eight suspects in connection with the death of a herdsman in Bende Local Government Area of the state on March 12.
The spokesman of the command, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, on Tuesday said the deceased was killed during a clash between some herdsmen and Umuobasi-Ukwu Autonomous Community.
He said that a Peace Committee, comprising representatives of the community, herdsmen, Hausa/Fulani community, the state government and security agencies, had been constituted to broker truce between the two parties.
