It’s no news by now that President Donald Trump’s America launched 59 BGM-109 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles early this morning into Syria’s Shayrat Air Bas.
Ostensibly, this attack … and was limited to the base itself, destroying aircraft, runways, ammunition dumps and fuel facilities at the base. There are also reports that say this morning’s attack has killed 9 people – including 4 children. The Syrian government has described the attack as “aggressive” and one that has caused “losses”.
According to Donald Trump, the attack is a response to Tuesday’s horrible attack on civilians using deadly chemical weapons. The attack has been largely credited to Bashir Al-Assad and rallies and protests have been held against him by Syrians and the international community.
In Trump’s words announcing his decision last night: this morning’s attack was “in the vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons. There can be no dispute that Syria used banned chemical weapons, violated its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and ignored the urging of the UN Security Council. Years of previous attempts at changing Assad’s behaviour have all failed and failed very dramatically. As a result, the refugee crisis continues to deepen and the region continues to destabilise threatening the United States and its allies.”

We can talk about the true use of this attack and how much it has helped or worsened the situation in Syria. We can also talk about whether America really should continue taking this big brother stance and nosing aggressively in other countries’ affairs and if this attack that has now killed even more people was the proper response to that horrible bloodshed on Tuesday.
But we won’t. You know it’s about being petty betty here on this column. In ordering this missile, Trump has had to chew his words; words from 2013 and 2014 and you know that Trump! Always putting up all of his thoughts on the Twitter.
The thing is, back then he’d warned the American government (i.e Obama) severally against launching missiles or attacking Syria. At a point, he even asked why Gulf countries were not paying America back for all the expensive attacks America had to launch in the war-torn country:
Let the Arab League take care of Syria. Why are these rich Arab countries not paying us for the tremendous cost of such an attack?

As far as he was concerned, it was always a dumb move and Obama did it a number of times and he said all that was on his mind at the time. Words that, if Obama were just as petty, would now be using against him.
The only thing that Trump managed to remain consistent about is the fact that an attack of this nature requires an element of surprise. Which is how he handled today’s situation.

The President must get Congressional approval before attacking Syria-big mistake if he does not!

AGAIN, TO OUR VERY FOOLISH LEADER, DO NOT ATTACK SYRIA – IF YOU DO MANY VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN & FROM THAT FIGHT THE U.S. GETS NOTHING!

Thankfully, former President Obama isn’t petty. But some of us and others on Twitter like comedian, Griffin Newman are here for this:
@Mrleefos @realDonaldTrump I don’t feel like being funny. Our shitty president just dropped fifty missiles on another country. Shit is pretty unfunny right now.
