Three dead babies were, this morning, found abandoned along the Second East Circular Road, Benin, Edo State.
The gory sight was discovered by residents of the area who immediately alerted the police.
Reports say two of them were wrapped in clothes and kept in a paper carton under a palm tree, while the other, a baby girl of about 18 months, was abandoned down the road.
She was dressed in white shirt and purple skirt.
The two babies, believed to be twins, were already decomposing when they were found.
It is, however, not clear how the children were killed.
Policemen were later seen taking photographs of the bodies.
