‘How SGF got N200m kickback from contracts’

A company owned by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, Rholavision Engineering Ltd allegedly got N200m bribe from a contract he awarded for the clearing of grasses in Yobe State, TheCable reports.

According to the news platform, the company’s bank account statement, the company got N10m from Josmon Technologies Ltd 20 times from March 29.

Jimson Technologies Ltd was one of the companies awarded N248, 939, 231 to clear grass under the Presidential Initiative on Northeast (PINE) supervised by Lawal.

The company allegedly made the payment to Lawal’s company until September 2016 when he resigned.

The news platform also claims that Lawal resigned from Rholavision, contrary to his claim that he resigned on August 15, 2015.

According to TheCable, a document from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) showed that Lawal was a director of Rholavision until September 16, 2016.

The Senate had called for Lawal’s resignation after N2.5bn allocated to PINE could not be accounted for.

But Lawal had insisted he would not resign, stating that the Senate was talking balderdash.
