Great news: A 120-year-old woman, Rhoda Tamunu, has been rescued from a house submerged in the floods in Bayelsa.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Tamunu was rescued by the state’s Emergency Medical Services at Agudama in the state’s capital, Yenagoa.

She is one of many displaced by the raging floods, some in relief camps awaiting government.

It will be recalled that the state administration post-floof, inaugurated the Emergency Response Flood Management Committee for “immediate evacuation of flood victims and provision of relief items.”
