Joke Silva’s mother, Dr. Marienne Abimbola Silva died on Sunday morning in Lagos at age 89. Silva, who was the first female medical doctor in Nigeria, is survived by her screen queen daughter Joke Silva, Bisi Silva, Jumoke Daodu and Lape Silva. In 1979, she was honoured with the Officer of the Order of the Niger.
