A young man in his early 20s, Uzoma Anyanwu, at Amagbor Ihittte, in Ezinihitte Mbaise council area of Imo State, has allegedly hacked his mother to death for cautioning him against smoking “weed”.
It all started when the mother who was said to be tired of her son’s smoking habit advised him to quit. He reportedly asked his mother to mind her own business.
Not satisfied with his response, she spat on his face while he was eating, this infuriated the son who went for a machete and inflicted several cuts on her until she died.
The state police image maker, Andrew Enwerem, confirmed the incident, saying the community’s traditional ruler, Eze Mike Orji, handed the young boy to the police.
