by Godwin Akanfe

In a statement released to the press today, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has alleged that the PDP has perfected plans to rig Saturday’s elections. The party alleged the clandestine movement of millions of ballot papers into Osun in a bullion van by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Abuja on Wednesday.

APC chairman in Osun, Adelowo Adewoyi, and spokesman, Kunle Oyatomi, both alleged that the bullion van was parked at the PDP secretariat until the early hours of Thursday before it was taken to an unknown destination. They further alleged that the papers will be thumbprinted at a Catholic school in Ife Odan, then covertly added to the party’s tally in all wards and councils in Saturday’selection.

The APC went further to allege that government agencies, in this case the FRSC are being used to perfect such ‘Rigging plans’.

“Our people must also ensure that such subversive activities should not be condoned or allowed to happen in their precinct,” the APC said.

PDP reacts:

YNaija spoke with Diran Odeyemi, the spokesman for the campaign of the PDP candidate, Iyiola Omisore.

“We said exactly a week ago that between then and election day the APC will tell no less than fifty lies, ” Mr. Odeyemi said. “It is no surprise because they already see defeat coming.”

“There is nothing like any bullion van coming into Osun State as the PDP believes in one man one vote, ” Odeyemi added before going on to add that the APC has a track record of accusing the PDP beforehand of doing what they, the APC, plan to do on election day.
