Death toll in Benue petrol explosion rises to 45, 101 injured
Death toll from the Benue petrol tanker explosion on Tuesday in Ahumbe village, Gwer East Local Government Area has risen to 45, including a pregnant woman and two children, while 101 others sustained serious burns.

Elisah Abbo caught on video assaulting woman in adult toy shop in Abuja
The senator representing Adamawa North senatorial district, Elisa Abbo on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been caught on camera physically assaulting a woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja.
Abbo in the video released by Premium Times and dates back to May 31, descended on the woman after she pleaded with him not to physically assault the shop owner whom the senator had accused of insulting him. He said the shop owner called him a drunk.
US ambassador asks FG to get rid of fuel subsidy
Stuart Symington, US ambassador to Nigeria, has advised the federal government to get rid of fuel subsidy. The advice is coming a week after Muhammad Sanusi, emir of Kano, said heavy subsidy is leading Nigeria into bankruptcy.
Wale Tinubu, managing director of Oando Plc, had also called on the government to cease subsidy.
