Ebonylife Film’s The Royal Hibiscus Hotel is coming to Netflix. Anyone surprised? The 2017 romantic comedy directed by Ishayo Bako is one of the studio’s tentpoles which premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, and tells the story of aspiring restaurateur (Zainab Balogun) returns to her home in Lagos to try and refine the fare at her family’s little hotel, only to find that her parents are planning on selling out to a rich (and devilishly attractive) buyer (Kenneth Okolie).

CEO EbonyLife and executive producer made the announcement recently on Instagram. The Adamawa state government has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the state. The state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri announced this in a state broadcast today Wednesday April 22. According to the governor, the victim is a returnee from Kano state. This comes 14 hours after Kano state recorded 14 more COVID-19 infections.
