Girl child education -Western-style education- is a bit of a rarity up North. According to this 2013 report by Premium Times, Northern states have the worst girl-child education. Religion and extremism might be fingered as some of the causes of this problem. So it is inspiring to hear the story of a man who grew up in that environment, surrounded by its peculiar barriers and no leverage in life, yet possessing a global mindset.
