This is Prof Yemi Osinbajo’s second stint as Acting President. The first time, he held the office for a period of 50 days while his boss was in London treating an undisclosed illness. This second time around, he’s been in for 88 days and counting. We hear President Buhari will be back in the country this week, but who’s crossing their fingers? Maybe BET.com gamblers.
Anyway, in the months he’s been away, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has been done a good job acting in the president’s stead…Some would say all too well. On the security front, Osinbajo has ordered the relocation of Service Chiefs to Maiduguri, so they can regain grounds lost to Boko Haram. Economically, he’s urging the development of Ariara Aba and a shift from dependence on crude oil to technology, amongst other things.
Nigerians on Twitter want the Acting President to do more for the economy. These are the 7 things they want Prof. Osinbao to fix:
1
We need to unlock our manufacturing base to stimulate local demand @BBoason @ProfOsinbajo @BizMorning @channelstv pic.twitter.com/vht7L6GP2W

2/ We want these sorts of innovations to be extended into the trading and investment spaces @BBoason @BizMorning @channelstv

The Ag President is taking steps to do this. Please read https://t.co/ao4pzM4fuA

Great news: pushing partisanship aside. By the way, this might get few disciples away from behind the separatists, reduce idle hands https://t.co/DaNV1W8BEl
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
Very well @BBoason
— ikpenmosa uhumuavbi (@ikpems) August 3, 2017
(Very well)? I'm UPSET. Why did it take so LONG? https://t.co/yb1E0WJOZv
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
Well, mistakes have been made. The leadership must act very quickly to clawback lost opportunities
— ikpenmosa uhumuavbi (@ikpems) August 3, 2017
Sorry Bros, no (mistake) was made. #Ariaria sorry state was DESIGNED to flounder and rot, from a sectional and partisanship point of view. https://t.co/G3l2J28tzn

Acting Pres @ProfOsinbajo should give immediate Exec Order for take-off of completed but idling $220mn Geometric Power Plant there in #Aba https://t.co/DaNV1W8BEl
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
Key game-changing infrastructure capable of transforming Nigeria forever

Has the case between Geometric and EEDC been settled?
I think that was what stalled the whole thing https://t.co/tqjvOxyE1c
— afrispheric (@afrispheric) August 3, 2017
The Acting President @ProfOsinbajo should just get Prof. Barth Nnaji and EEDC folks into a room and read them a RIOT ACT https://t.co/KSIKSVQSWB
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
Actually, according to these stories, they've settled the issuehttps://t.co/kB6P5RQ5iY
— afrispheric (@afrispheric) August 3, 2017
3.
So, if it has been resolved, then we need to ask Geometric what exactly has been happening since the resolution in 2016
— afrispheric (@afrispheric) August 3, 2017
Don't know about the riot part, but Ag. President should facilitate a quick resolution to the issue for the good of Aba https://t.co/vJOxkNc6aG
— afrispheric (@afrispheric) August 3, 2017
4.
Gotta fish out #Barth Nnaji ASAP https://t.co/ZSGF71eF5E
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
5.
Next: Acting Pres. @ProfOsinbajo should make similar ORDERS of 24HR power availability for #Nnewi #Ibadan industrial Estate and #Kano also https://t.co/DaNV1W8BEl
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
Help me understand how this order works? Is there light they are not making available or is there a source unknown?
— Olufemi AWOYEMI (@OlufemiAwoyemi) August 3, 2017
These are very important business locations.
— ikpenmosa uhumuavbi (@ikpems) August 3, 2017
6.
Not sure the DISCO covering that area or so can muster enough electricity. The #Geometric power plant has to be brought on board ASAP https://t.co/JXS8xorqte
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
Went to #Aba #Ariaria and #Geometric power plant in 2014 for a #BTVA Africa Energy Report production…and I (we) wept. https://t.co/UX3Kl8cjXy
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
#Geometric power plant largely financed by @DiamondBankNG $220m just rotting away c.5yrs now. Then we say banks don't lend to real sector https://t.co/ePjTpKqYYR
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
My God ?! Well, this shouldn't happen in our country
— ikpenmosa uhumuavbi (@ikpems) August 3, 2017
That #Geometric power plant investment is one of @DiamondBankNG NON-PERFORMING LOANS albatross https://t.co/yT2ZAx7phQ
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
This transmission of inefficiencies & costs from one part of d country to another cannot be curtailed by controls from official authorities
— ikpenmosa uhumuavbi (@ikpems) August 3, 2017
#SeriouslySpeaking The country is not (politically) OPEN for BUSINESS, hence it cannot be (economically) OPEN for BUSINESS. https://t.co/gPuAXUsTkr
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017
…the sad story of how we have allowed a $400m investment in critical infrastructure to lie fallow for over 3 years after completion… https://t.co/wqcoaRrYLd
— Eyo (@eyooekpo) August 3, 2017
#Geometric power plant was largely build by S. African engineers, at least 3 turbines w/ gas lines all way and elec. poles erected into town https://t.co/JXS8xorqte
— Boason Omofaye (@BBoason) August 3, 2017

Next @ProfOsinbajo should make similar ORDERS of #24HRpower availability for all #Nigerians , we are not unpeople https://t.co/ifTliWE6po
